How to take good care of your low porous hair?

What is low porosity?

The verdict is in: your hair has low porosity! In this article, you will discover several tips to adopt to have healthy hair.

Your scales are very tight. This means that hydration and care have difficulty penetrating to the heart of your hair fiber. Your scales need help to open and allow moisture and your care to penetrate.

Increase the effectiveness of your hair care

To open your scales, you must favor heat sources : invest in a heating cap and/or a steam helmet. Failing that, a warm towel will do the trick just fine. To rinse: wash your hair with hot water.

Leave your treatments on for a long time, at least 1 hour or overnight. This will give your hair plenty of time to absorb it well.

Once a month, use a clarifying shampoo . Your hair tends to accumulate products on the surface of the hair fiber. The purpose of a clarifying shampoo is to purify, deeply cleanse and rid your hair of accumulated product residue. Result: your scales will be more open and better prepared for your next treatments.

Stay vigilant about the composition of your clarifying shampoos, avoid chemical and overly aggressive compositions. Favor moisturizing masks . To avoid the accumulation of residue, you can also use hair scrubs.

Little tip: you can wash your hair naturally with baking soda, cornstarch, black soap or rhassoul.

MOISTURIZE LOW POROSITY HAIR

To hydrate your hair, we recommend the greenhouse effect method. This involves using a cap to wrap your hair after it has been moisturized.

All hair needs a protein intake, so we advise you to do a protein treatment every 4 to 8 weeks .

Hair that needs a high supply of proteins is hair with high porosity, this is far from being your case so avoid products with a high protein composition.

Use light vegetable oils that penetrate easily into the hair and favor hair milks and fluid masks.

Also favor humectant products (honey, glycerin, etc.): their role is to retain hydration.

Here are some oils for your hair: sweet almond oil, coconut, mustard, grape seed, avocado, jojoba, flax
